The Joy of Walking in Rome

24 Aug

I had that unfamiliar, relaxed, amazing feeling while walking in the streets of Rome, a feeling I never felt in my own country. I think I can name it, a feeling of freedom, a feeling of belonging to the street, a feeling of walking without being stared at, a feeling of tranquility and quietness where things seemed clearer to me.

Streets enriched with beautiful trees. I felt their greatness as they were close to me. There were no boundaries, no limits, no barriers. I felt I could hear my own inner self. There’s something about Rome. What I’m sure of is that it was a magical feeling, and I can’t wait to go back to Rome.

Fragolina, I’m so glad you felt like that walking in Rome!
I think it’s a magical city and I always hope everybody can feel how special Rome is. It’s my favorite city… I still remember the first time I saw Fontana di Trevi…. indescribable!

BTW, I totally agree with Diana about your writing style! 😛

Yes we loved Rome alot, I’m constantly nagging on my husband to go back there next year. We were amazed by every single corner in Rome, every street we walked in. We also loved Florence, it has a romantic, poetic side. Was amazing. Thank you 🙂

i know exactly what you are talking about. Sadly, i was greatly missing that feeling when i walked in beirut. talk about being stared at !!! Beirut…sitt iddinya needs to lighten up and let its hair down…… it’s even worse in our village …

It’s not “Sitt idounya” anymore, khalas….. in the villages, im sure they have nothing else to do… i dont blame them!!!!!! but a country has to offer more to its citizens. I knew you’re coming next month, balke I’ll see you. 🙂

balke we’ll hike the LMT ( Lebanon Mountain Trail) or parts of it together. It has been on my bucket list of things to accomplish. Darb Al jabal is far much nicer and more pristine than the AT ( the Appalachian trail ) which I;ve hiked on , as well as the Rocky Mountains. Just imagine the unbelievable pictures you’ll take. see you soon
