I found this recipe on a lovely blog called, the sophisticated gourmet, the author Kamran has an interesting style, and a way to tell a story. These brownies are extremely delicious, as all the family has said. In two days, the container in which I stored the brownies was empty.
I enjoyed these small dark bites topped with slices of strawberries. Yummiiii… the juiciness and freshness of the strawberry combined with the darkness, tenderness and richness of the brownie. You should try it. Un délice.
Cocoa Brownies adapted from sophisticated gourmet
– 137 g unsalted butter, cut
– 1 1/4 cup natural brown sugar
– 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp cocoa powder
– 1 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 3 eggs, cold
– 1/2 cup wheat flour ( 1/4 cup whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour)
In a large bowl, melt the butter for one minute in the microwave, add the sugar, cocoa and salt, and mix with a wooden spoon. Stir in the vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time, stiring vigorously after each addition. When the batter looks thick, shiny and well combined add all the flour and stir for 40 strokes (I followed Kamran’s note) .
Spread the batter in a baking pan lined with a parchment paper and bake in a 180C preheated oven, rack positioned in the upper third of the oven, for 20 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the middle of the cake, it should comes out alittle bit moist.
Let the pan cool completely on a rack and then cut into small bites, as I did, or the shape and size you like.
