Mimi is an ambitious person. Food is her passion. She loves the nature, animals and a good gathering around food.
I am Lebanese, I live in Beirut. I come from a beautiful village called DeirMimas, situated on a hill, overlooking the Litani river, facing a splendid mountain and surrounded by olive trees. I love spending summer days at my home village, enjoying the wild wind, even during the summer, the summer fruits, figs & prickly pears, olive harvest and a lot more.
I love Lebanese sweets… alot..
I’m interested in everything that is Italian. I, once, went to Italy and fell in love with. My dream is to go live in Italy for a year, with my husband, leave everything and choose a beautiful city where we can enjoy its beautiful sceneries and savoury food. Exploring a culinary job while practicing my Italian.
I love traveling, seeing new cities, beautiful nature, knowing new cultures, new food, new faces… wandering the streets, looking for new bakeries and food stores.
I love taking pictures of food, nature, trees, beautiful sites, animals… wishing that soon I could get a new professional camera. ( now I got that cam, and I enjoy exploring it alot)
I am not a cook and I haven’t followed any professional culinary courses. But I love baking, I love to try new recipes, I love being in the kitchen, I love when the house smells a hot cake and I love to see people’s faces when tasting what I have baked for them…
So this blog is a start for me in the world of food, of cuisine. And this blog is an opportunity for me to share this passion with the hope of fulfilling it by becoming a pastry chef. Until then, I’ll keep on baking, sharing with you the recipes and the pictures I take of the nature, of my lovely village and the trips we make, as I’ll appreciate every comment you leave, and notifying me if you would like to use any of the pictures of this blog.
Enjoy my blog.

Hello there! How wonderful to find your special blog. My family is also from Diermimas–I live in the U.S., in Michigan, and visited Lebanon for the first time last May. It was incredible. I also write a food blog about Lebanese cuisine called Rose Water & Orange Blossoms, and like you I love pastry too! Please come by and visit me and I look forward to following your lovely work.
I found your blog after visiting Confetti Blues (your friend), and it seems that you are coming soon to Montreal. I’m from Lebanon as well, I just wanted to say that you have a lovely blog! Keep up the good work and enjoy Montreal!
thank you alot. for sure I will enjoy Montreal; you live there too or you have just visited the city?
Lovely Blog and Lovely Village!
I fell in love with Italy when I visited it too! I would love to live in Rome for a while. And my friend in Italy tells me I should have been Italian because I am so touchy about authenticity and techniques of pasta making lol. The only difference between you and me is that I love cooking and not baking. Baking is not my natural thing, cooking is though. It takes a lot of effort to bake and I admire people who can do it effortlessly. Yeah Beyrouth is nice for tourism, family and may I add cuisine. I am glad I found your blog, my husband is a good baker maybe he will be able to make the Lebanese pastries as well as his own too
thank you for your comment Viviane.
it’s a dream to go live in Italy and explore every inch of it, starting from its nature and architecture to its cuisine and culture. I love both cooking and baking but I tend to prepare sweets and dessert. So you have visited Beirut! I particularly love the Lebanese desserts, such a wide variety..
I lived in Beirut all my life, till a few months ago. I moved to California to be with my husband, and it is a great experience to cook Lebanese dishes for him. He is enjoying the flavors and I am converting him to eating veggies he was not so eager about before.
Oh so you’re Lebanese!
for me it’s always a great pleasure to cook and bake.
I just found your blog, I love it!
Thank you Loufy!

Oh my! I am supposed to be studying art right now, but I’m so very happy I’ve found this blog! First thought I had, after seeing all those tasty pictures: “This is paradise”.
Thank you so much(words can’t express my feelings)!
Keep up the good work and please take care of me,
A fan from Italy
